We flew half way around the globe from Vietnam for the famous New England fall colors and we were not disappointed. The colors in the White Mountains are magical, with all shades of red, orange, yellow, green… I’ve seen fall colors in Europe but that was not much compared to this.
Matt, our tour guide and a mountain hiker himself, is very knowledgeable about the mountains, the trees, local history and traditions. He showed us the best view points, great restaurants for lunch, souvenirs shops… The day trip was a great success thanks to his expertise and spirit.
Also, we had 2 options for fall colors day trip from Boston and Matt’s is way better: a small group tour in a new van that really went far into the mountains, where there’s real forest. The other one is a big bus tour and only goes to some hilly areas not far from Boston. We were lucky to pick Matt’s.”
“We had a great trip to Martha’s Vineyard from Boston. Matt’s communication was excellent, from contacting us the day before to verify all logistics, to his informative and fascinating trivia during the ride to Martha’s Vineyard, and also his excellent interaction on the way back to Boston. There was a cancellation that left our van with only two couples to travel to Martha’s Vineyard, so we had a bit of time to spare the morning Matt picked us up. So he drove us around downtown Boston for a bit with great commentary regarding the rich history of Boston. The other couple with us was from Iceland, but Matt kept the dialogue engaging and interesting for both couples nonetheless. Matt is a true patriot who served our country, and his enthusiasm and passion for the history of America and the New England area is evident. If you want to watch him glow, just ask him about his two dogs (hiking / camping companions) – ha. The tour around Martha’s Vineyard was also done professionally, and we were able to learn so much from our driver, a native to the island. If our travels take us back to the Boston area, we will most certainly engage Matt and New England Excursions again.”
